Dunking a cookie in a cold glass of milk is one of life’s greatest pleasures. The crispy cookie absorbs the milk, which slightly softens it, while the milk takes on the cookie’s flavor. When you’re done eating your cookie (or, who are we kidding, a few cookies) you get to wash it down with that sweet glass of milk — it’s basically a two-for-one deal.

Kitchn contributor Tessa Huff played off this nostalgic treat and transformed it into a whimsical three-layer cake. Now you can have your milk and cookies (cake) and eat it, too.
